This is a slightly more extreme way to get an airlift from a giant bird.

If you jump from an aeroplane the maximum speed you will achieve is up to about 220-235 MPH, in about 20 seconds of freefall.

This would need to be done at about 6000m altitude so that the diver can then slow down to 120mph so that he can open his parachute - that is if he has a parachute.
